What I like most is...Oh, what an excellent review! What I like most is your emphasis on the heroine's passion to live her dream, in a century that denied such things to women, for the most part. <br /><br />I faint at the sight of blood, so I don't like the medical aspect of the plot. However, I am attracted to the love story aspect, and I do enjoy historical fiction, especially of the romantic type! <br /><br />The fact that you've also mentioned "Gone With the Wind" is another plus. I never did like Scarlett O'Hara, and was not happy that this novel became a classic. Why not? Because the heroine is very selfish, shallow, and manipulative. So, for the 21st century, we have an epic novel about a woman who has a passion to save lives, and the determination to break through sexist barriers!! LOVE IT!!
